HAZMAT Decon Series Package (PSG/J&B)

HAZMAT Decon Series Package (PSG/J&B) bundles ATS's 4-title HAZMAT Decontamination video series with the matching Jones and Bartlett (J&B) Public Safety Group hazardous-materials textbook line, and SkillsTrain, the authorised Action Training Systems (ATS) distributor in South Africa, supplies it locally. The four titles are Why Decontaminate?, Decontamination Procedures, Handling Contaminated Victims, and Mass Decontamination, covering routine, technical and mass-casualty decontamination in turn.

The opening title explains why decontamination matters, setting out the acute and chronic health risks hazardous materials pose and the basic rule that runs through the rest of the series, to get the contaminant off, keep it off, and contain it. Decontamination Procedures turns that reasoning into the step-by-step work of setting up a decontamination site, arranging its zones so clean and contaminated areas never mix, and working through the technical decontamination process while avoiding cross-contamination. The final two titles extend the same principles to handling contaminated victims individually and to mass decontamination, where the same set-up has to scale to large numbers of people and equipment at once.

All four titles are built to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 470 hazardous-materials standard and positioned for Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) content. ATS does not publish a separate marketing description for this packaged stock-keeping unit (SKU) beyond the series name and the publisher pairing, so SkillsTrain's role is to confirm what is included and supply it, not to write or accredit either half.
