ATS HAZMAT Containment - 4 Title Series on USB

This is Action Training Systems' complete 4-title HAZMAT Containment series, supplied on USB, and SkillsTrain, the authorised Action Training Systems (ATS) distributor in South Africa, supplies it locally. It is the second level in ATS's four-level HAZMAT pathway, covering containment actions once an incident has been recognised at Awareness level.

The four titles escalate in scale. Plugging and Patching Drums covers containing a leak at a single drum. Containing Leaks in Pressurized Cylinders covers the higher-risk job of a pressurised cylinder. Diking, Diverting and Retaining Spills moves from stopping a leak at source to managing a spill that is already spreading, by building barriers or earthworks to dike, divert or retain it. Incidents Involving Fuel Tank Trucks applies those skills to the specific, high-volume fuel tanker scenario that closes the series.

It is built toward NFPA 470, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) consolidated hazardous-materials and weapons-of-mass-destruction response standard. All titles use ATS's teach, test and track model: the course teaches a skill on video, checks the learner as they go, and when a question is answered incorrectly it stops, backs up and replays that section before the learner moves on, so the course teaches rather than only tests.

SkillsTrain also supplies the same content as a streaming online video series, with a facilitator guide, PowerPoint and FITS quiz-generator question bank available separately. Who it is for: brigades building containment-level HAZMAT competency who prefer to run training from local USB media. The level before this is HAZMAT Awareness.
