ATS Emergency Medical Responder

ATS Emergency Medical Responder is Action Training Systems' entry-level EMS training line, and SkillsTrain, the authorised ATS distributor in South Africa, supplies it locally. Built across 25 titles to NREMT (the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians) and NAEMSE (National Association of EMS Educators) standards, it is the first response level most EMS training programmes in Africa start from before moving a learner up to EMT.

The pathway covers scene safety, patient assessment, airway and breathing, bleeding and shock, cardiovascular and resuscitation emergencies, behavioural and neurological emergencies, and trauma across every major body system, giving a new responder a complete grounding rather than a single skill. Like the rest of ATS's EMS range, it follows a teach, test and track model, testing the learner as they move through each title and replaying any section answered incorrectly before they continue.

Closed captioning is included, and correlation guides are available linking the series to standard EMR reference textbooks. SkillsTrain supplies it on USB or as a classroom streaming option.

Who it is for: fire and rescue services, ambulance providers and industrial first-aid teams building or refreshing an EMR-level training programme from the ground up.
